Dado Ceramics is a small craft workshop specialising in making dado, listello and other border tiles.
Border or edging tiles have always been used in ceramic tiling to provide a variety of decorative and functional effects for example a line of dado tiles to give a proper finish to tiles part way up a wall, framing tiles to enclose a tile panel or listello tiles to create a pattern of contrasting colour.
Dado Ceramics is probably unique in specialising in hand-crafted dado and border tiles. Standard styles such as Victorian and Art Deco are available in a range of colours and lengths but because the tiles are hand-crafted our workshop can also provide a bespoke service producing small runs of tiles based on an existing pattern. This is of great relevance to restoration and renovation projects when keeping faithful to a particular style or period can be so important.
