Tile3D is easy to use and has a user-friendly interface. An average designer or tile sales assistant will quickly master the program using the program's demo and video tutorials. Moreover, in Tile3D you can open a manual by pressing F1 button. In the manual you’ll find a detailed description of each Tile3D function. Therefore it could be really useful to read it. However, if you still need advice on working in the program, it is enough to apply for technical support info@tile3d.com and our specialists will answer you. 3. How to avoid problems with graphics in Tile3DAt first please check System requirements for Tile3D software. If you are planning to use Tile3D software on a laptop, please make sure that it has a discrete (external) graphics card. We strongly DO NOT recommend using Tile3D software on laptops with integrated graphics cards, because they do not support all OpenGL modes correctly (Tile3D software uses OpenGL as a graphics platform). Using OpenGL Extensions Viewer please make sure that your graphics card supports OpenGL v. 1.5 or higher. It is recommended to use a video card with a memory capacity of at least 1 GB and a memory bus width of 128 bits. Moreover, it is necessary to check if you have installed the original driver for your graphics card. If not, you should install it. In order to do that, you should download the latest driver for your graphics card from the graphics card manufacturer’s website and install it on your PC. For devices where two video adapters are installed - integrated and discrete (for example, laptops or all-in-one computers), do the following:
It is also necessary to pay attention to the following graphics card settings:
Please remember that some applications can automatically change graphics card settings. Therefore, you shouldn’t give them permission to do it. In order to check how your graphics card works with Tile3D, please download and install Tile3D Demo, create a simple project, lay tile on walls, place 3D objects and use the following visualization functions:
If you have encountered some problems with graphics while working in Tile3D, e.g. it is impossible to select some surfaces by double clicking on them, textures and materials are displayed incorrectly, grid and coordinates disappear when you edit a contour or a surface, it is impossible to lay the selected tile on a surface, etc., please check the above mentioned recommendations or contact us at info@tile3d.com. 4. Visualization. Rendering, spherical panorama, 3D glassesFirst of all, if you add tile textures to the program by yourself, please note that low quality tile textures will look low quality even after rendering. Therefore, it is recommended to use only high resolution textures (at least 10pix per 1 cm, JPG file format, 24 bit RGB color model). When your project is ready it is recommended to use some functions that improve visualization:
Function "Mode" → "Visualization" The mode is designed to form higher-quality 3D images, taking into account the adjustment of light, shadow, etc. Then you’ll be able to adjust image clarity and save the image in BMP format (by default images are saved in Projects folder). Read more about visualization settings here → Function "Mode" → "External render" (this function is available only for Tile3D PROF+RENDER users) Next you need to properly configure the render. After setting up the project, we perform “Export the project to the rendering format”. Next, select “Start rendering” (to get the image of the project) or “Spherical panorama” to select the spherical panorama formation mode and get a panorama file. A panoramic image can be displayed on the screen of a monitor or other device using a special utility (for example, DevalVR player) or using 3D glasses. You can use the most simple VR glasses and a smartphone with a player installed to view 3D panoramas. Or use professional 3D glasses. 5. During the export to Pov-Ray the following error message appears: "file access denied"This happens due to the problem with access rights. The error can be eliminated in one of the following ways:
6. The program has been registered, but now it is available only in demo mode
In all cases, you need to contact the developer to find out the reason. For irrelevant versions of Tile3d 4.0-6.0 (these versions are not serviced since 01/01/2019) HARDWARE ID can change if you:
In this case, you need to purchase an update to version 7.xx, update the program, send a registration request and get a new key. 7. Unable to register the program using the registration key. The program continues to remain in a demo modeStart Tile3d. Open Help - About Tile3d. If you see the status "not registered", this could happen due to one of the following reasons:
8. Is there a network version of the program? There is no network version of Tile3D. The program works only on local machines. If you want to install the program on several computers, you can buy additional workstation licenses. If your computer is in a local network, it is possible to open the projects that are located on the other computers. 9. How can I add tile to the program?Tile database doesn’t change after program registration. Several tile collections and some other materials are initially placed in the database only to let users try the program in the demo mode. In order to add tiles to the database you should do the following: 1. If you have access to the “Collections” section on tile3d.comLog on to https://www.tile3d.com/en/support/ using your username and password. Mark the necessary collections and download the archive file to your computer (no more than 10 objects to download). Run Tile3D and select "Table" → "Materials". You"ll see a window with all materials that are already included in the database. Left-click the "Tile" string, then right-click and select "New Child element". A new string will appear. In the "Name" field in the right part of the window enter the name of tile manufacturer. Thus, you have created a subsection, which will all tiles of the specified manufacturer. After that right-click the string with tile collection and select "Import". Specify the path to the archive file that you downloaded and click «Open». The tiles will be loaded into the program. If you did not find the required tile collection at https://www.tile3d.com/en/support/, send us a request by email info@tile3d.com. Be sure to include the address of the site where these collections can be. We quickly and efficiently process your application. 2. If you don’t have access to "Collections" section of tile3d.com websiteTile3D PROF users can prolong the access by purchasing "Access to Collections". Or you can add tile texture to the program yourself. It is recommended to use only high-resolution textures (at least 10 pixels by 1 cm, JPG file format, 24-bit RGB color model). To learn more about adding tiles, you can download the video “How to add tiles to a program” in the “Downloads” section or read the user manual. 10. About 3D objects in Tile3DHow to add a 3D object from your site to the program In order to add 3D objects please do the following:
In order to learn more about 3D object you can download a video tutorial "Using 3D-objects in the program" or read user manual. Is it possible to use in the program some 3D object that were downloaded not from your website? Basically, Tile3D uses 3D models in 3DT format. It is also possible to use some 3DS object. To verify the correct operation of 3DS objects and convert them to 3DT format, you should use a 3DT Maker utility. It is distributed and installed together with Tile3D software. You can find it the directory where Tile3D is installed. Is it possible to change the size of 3D object s in the program? For example, can I increase the height of the shower cabin that I have downloaded from your website? No, it is impossible to change the size of 3D objects in Tile3D. 11. Unable to load texture image file or texture becomes distorted after adding it to the databaseIf after adding tile texture to the database the texture is displayed incorrect or you are unable to add texture to the database, you should to check whether the image file extension is its actual file extension. Moreover, it is likely that the image was saved with CMYK color model, while texture files used in Tile3D should be saved with RGB color model. The difference between CMYK and RGB is that CMYK color model has 32-bit JPG file. However, RGB color model supports only up to 24-bit file format JPG. In order to solve the problem you can simply convert CMYK JPG file into RGB JPG file using any graphics editor (ex. Paint). 12. On your website I haven't found some tile collections I need. Some tile collections on the website are not full. What should I do?We are trying to add on Tile3D website as many tile collections as possible. However, most of world tile manufacturers are constantly expanding their product range. Therefore, some tile collections may not be present on the website or they may become outdated. In that case you can send a request for adding/updating a tile collection at info@tile3d.com. In the request you should specify:
13. How can I transfer my tile database from one computer to another?
In version 7 of the program there is the possibility of archiving the catalog of coatings for its subsequent restoration. Perform the operation: «Database» – «Materials» – «Add Database to archive». Save the archive file. The archive of directories in this case is best stored on a separate carrier. This operation can be useful both for saving the catalog of tiles from accidental damage to the program, as well as for reinstallation of the program with subsequent restoration of the catalog. Perform the operation: «Database» – «Materials» – «Extract Database from archive». Open archive file.
14. I'm using MS Office and I can't import tile collections to the program. During the import the following error message appears: "Invalid class string"Please find out what MS Office version are you using. MS Office 2010 Starter doesn't support OLE Automation. This technology is used to during tile import in Tile3D. The error can be eliminated in one of the following ways:
15. What are the minimum and recommended hardware requirements for Tile3D and Tile3D+RENDER?You can find the minimum and recommended hardware requirements in the "System requirements" section. Tile3D and Tile3D+RENDER have the same video card requirements. However, Tile3D+RENDER has higher CPU requirements, because CPU characteristics affect rendering speed. Therefore, it is recommended to use multi-core processors (for POV-Ray v. 3.7). The more cores your CPU has, the faster will be the speed of rendering. 16. While importing tile collection to the program the following error appears: «Index in out of date. Index: IDIDGroup»First run the command: 'File' → 'Data optimization' → 'Files of textures' and wait till the data optimization will be completed. This may be due to the fact that the collection of sheets with an empty “Name” field has been added to the list of materials. Please delete one of the latest tile collections you tried to import. Then check if there are any tile collections with empty 'Name' field in the list of materials. If you find such collections, delete them. If not, delete any unnecessary tile collection from the list of materials. After that, you should optimize the texture data in the program again. To do this, select “File” → “Data Optimization” → “Texture Files” and be sure to wait until the data optimization is completed. 17. The program's window is not minimized by clicking on the appropriate icon in the upper right corner of the windowDelete the file Tile3D.ini (it contains information about program's window mode) from the program's directory. | |||||||||||||||
